The members of Meta Piano Trio are Marija Pranskutė (violin), Deividas Dumčius (cello) and Julija Bagdonavičiūtė (piano). They have studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in the class of Professor Indrė Baikštytė. The trio was formed in 2018. In the same year, the ensemble won the 1st prize at the XVIII International Lithuanian Composers' Chamber Music Performance Competition in Vilnius. In 2019, Meta represented the country at the International Chamber Music Festival "Harmos" in Porto, Portugal, and participated in the “International Summer Academy - ISA” masterclass in Austria, where they were awarded the Public Prize. In 2020, the Meta Piano Trio made its debut at the “Tangobrücke” Concert Hall in Germany, “Užutrakis Evenings” and “Permainų muzika” festivals. In the same year, the Piano Trio was awarded the GRAND PRIX prize at the 5th Vilnius International Youth Music Competition "Premio Scarlatti". In 2021, the Meta Piano Trio was awarded GRAND PRIX at the XXI International Festival-Competition "Music Without Borders", 1st prize at the 1st International Rudolf Barshai Competition in Moscow, Russia, 2nd prize at the 8th International Music Competition in Stockholm, Sweden, as well as 3rd prize at the 1st International Piano Chamber Music Competition "Tallinn 2021". All members of the trio have extensive experience not only as chamber music performers but also as soloists - they have performed in various venues in Lithuania, Germany, Italy, Finland, Hungary, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, China, Russia and South America. The musicians have performed at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic, Gewandhaus (Leipzig), Konzerthaus (Berlin), St. Martin in the Fields, the Roundhouse (London) among the others. They have received lessons from such artists as Pascal Devoyon, Daniel Garlitsky, David Gering, Kevin Kenner, Barbara Lüneburg. As an ensemble, they have participated in masterclasses with Hatto Beyerle, Avedis Kouyoumdjian, Othmar Müller, Johannes Meissl, Candida Thompson, Marta Gulyás, Patrick Jüdt, Peter Schuhmayer and Hanns-Martin Schreiber.
